Ep 17. Please Be My Friend

Laura is having a tough time making friends in Walnut Grove. She desperately wants to be accepted by a group of girls at school but they keep rejecting her. She even tries to impress them by showing off her skills in the schoolyard, but they still don't want anything to do with her. Poor Laura is left feeling frustrated and alone.

Meanwhile, Charles is dealing with his own issues. He's struggling to make ends meet and can't afford to buy new clothes for his growing family. He's getting tired of patching up his old clothes and wants to buy everyone new outfits for the upcoming church social.

One day, Laura meets a new student at school named Anna. Anna has just moved to Walnut Grove and doesn't have any friends yet. Laura is excited to have someone to talk to and they quickly become friends. However, Laura starts neglecting her old chores and responsibilities in order to spend more time with Anna. When Charles finds out, he's not too pleased and reminds Laura of her duties.

At the church social, the girls who had previously rejected Laura start teasing her in front of everyone. Laura is humiliated and runs away from the party. Anna goes after her and comforts her, reminding her that being true to yourself and helping others is more important than trying to impress a group of mean girls.

Laura realizes that Anna is the true friend she has been looking for all along and apologizes to her family for neglecting them. Charles even surprises the family by buying them all new outfits for the church social, showing how much he values their happiness.

In the end, Laura learns a valuable lesson about friendship and the importance of being true to oneself. She also learns that being a good friend means being there for someone and helping them through tough times.
