For My Lady is the nineteenth episode of the second season of Little House on the Prairie. The show follows the Ingalls family as they navigate life in the small town of Walnut Grove in the late 1800s.
In this episode, Laura is chosen to represent her school at a spelling bee in Mankato. Nellie Oleson, Laura's arch-rival, is also chosen to go. Laura is determined to win against Nellie, but she soon learns that there are much more important things in life than winning a spelling bee.

As Charles struggles to take care of the children, Laura's concerns shift from winning the spelling bee to helping her father. She offers to help Charles take care of the Carter children, but Nellie makes fun of her for being a "nanny." Laura's determination to help her father and care for the Carter children ultimately leads her to make a selfless decision that surprises everyone.
