Ep 20. Child Of Pain

Laura and Mary help their new classmate, Johnny Johnson, with his reading and writing skills. However, they soon learn that Johnny is being neglected at home and is suffering from physical abuse. Despite their father's warnings, Laura and Mary continue to help Johnny, even going as far as taking him in temporarily when he runs away from home. The families in Walnut Grove are divided on what to do about the situation, leading to a heated debate at the school board meeting. Meanwhile, Charles struggles with his own feelings about the situation and tries to teach his daughters a lesson about the importance of standing up for what is right. In the end, the town comes together to help Johnny and his family in a heartwarming display of compassion and empathy.
