In Line of Duty season 3 episode 5, tensions are high as AC-12 continues to investigate the Danny Waldron case. The episode begins with DS Steve Arnott discovering new evidence that suggests Waldron's shooting may have been premeditated, leading the team to look into Waldron's former colleagues and superiors.
Meanwhile, DC Kate Fleming is still undercover in the OCG (Organized Crime Group) and begins to develop a rapport with their leader, Jamie Desford. However, when a member of the OCG is brutally attacked, Kate is forced to reveal her true identity to Desford and the group, putting her in grave danger.
As the investigation into Waldron's shooting heats up, tensions rise between AC-12 and Waldron's former unit, who seem determined to protect their own. In particular, DI Matthew "Dot" Cottan behaves increasingly suspiciously, and his allegiances are called into question.
The episode reaches its climax as AC-12 closes in on their suspects, but not before a shocking twist leaves the team reeling. As the show continues to explore themes of police corruption and organized crime, this episode leaves viewers on the edge of their seats, eager for the next installment.
