Ep 9. Life Is Priceless

Ryan Burns, a public defender, is shot dead in his office building. The criminal is caught, and the weapon, a .45 caliber handgun, is found in a stairwell. Cal and Ria quickly delve into the case, but two potential suspects emerge: Nikki, a prostitute with whom Burns had been spending a lot of time, or the mother of one of Burns' clients, who had threatened to kill him because she was unhappy he couldn't get her son off a murder charge. Meanwhile, during the investigation, Cal receives a shock - he finds out that his own daughter, Emily, has been suspended from school for threatening another student with a knife. As the situation unfolds, Cal has to decide whether or not to reveal his daughter's secret whilst still trying to solve the murder. Ultimately, the truth is out in the open, but it brings with it unexpected consequences.
