Ep 15. The Turtle

Liberty's Kids season 1 episode 15, titled "The Turtle," follows the story of David Bushnell, a Connecticut farmer and inventor. David has been working on a new submarine called the Turtle, which he hopes will help end the British blockade of American ports during the Revolutionary War.

James is intrigued by the Turtle and volunteers to help David with a test run. They take the submarine out into the harbor, but things quickly go wrong when the propeller falls off and the Turtle starts to sink. James is trapped inside and must use all his wits to survive.

Back on shore, Sarah and Henri frantically try to find help and rescue James. They finally convince a group of Patriot soldiers to come to their aid, and together they are able to successfully retrieve James and the Turtle.

The episode ends with the Liberty's Kids reflecting on the bravery of those fighting for American independence, and the many sacrifices they have made in pursuit of freedom.
