In season 2 episode 7 of Leverage titled "The Two Live Crew Job," Nate and his team find themselves involved in a risky mission that requires them to pull off a heist at a high-security prison. The episode begins with the team on a seemingly simple job to steal a valuable antique watch, but they soon realize that someone else is trying to steal the same watch. The person in question is an old acquaintance of Nate, James Sterling, who is now working for Interpol.
When Nate and James meet, it becomes clear that they need to work together to take down a pair of corrupt businessmen who are using a music festival as a cover to smuggle illegal drugs. The businessmen are also protected by a group of corrupt prison officials, making their operation nearly impenetrable. To stop them, Nate and James need to get inside the prison and steal evidence that will expose the businessmen's illegal activities.
To accomplish this, the team concocts an elaborate plan that involves getting two of the world's most notorious grifters to impersonate a rap duo called "The Two Live Crew." The two grifters, played by guest stars Snoop Dogg and MC Hammer, are convinced to go along with the scheme after Nate promises to help them clear their own legal problems.
With Snoop and Hammer on board, the team begins to put their plan into motion. However, they quickly discover that the prison is even more heavily guarded than they thought, with patrolling guards, surveillance cameras, and even drones monitoring the grounds. To get inside, they need to use all their skills and expertise to create an opening.
Once inside, the grifters use their rap skills to distract the guards while the rest of the team sneaks around the grounds, gathering evidence and planting fake drugs. All the while, they are aware that one mistake could mean the end of their mission.
Despite the challenges, the team manages to pull off the heist and deliver the evidence to James, who uses it to arrest the corrupt businessmen and their accomplices. Although the job is a success, it is not without repercussions. Nate and James come to a new understanding about their professional relationship, and the team realizes that their involvement with Interpol may have long-term effects.
"The Two Live Crew Job" is an action-packed episode that highlights the show's unique mix of humor, suspense, and drama. It is a standout episode from an already impressive season and showcases the skills of the entire Leverage team, from the acting to the writing to the directing. If you're a fan of heist movies or just looking for a thrilling hour of television, "The Two Live Crew Job" is a must-watch.
