In Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 12, titled "The Roger and Me," the audience is taken on a rollercoaster journey as the team attempts to track down a serial killer who is on the loose in Los Angeles. Detective Roger Murtaugh, played by Damon Wayans, is at the center of this episode, dealing with some personal and professional setbacks.
The episode starts with Murtaugh getting a call from his daughter Riana who tells him that she has lost her internship because her boss was arrested for embezzlement. This upsets Murtaugh because he feels that his daughter has been unfairly treated and decides to take matters into his own hands. However, before he can do anything, he gets called back to the precinct for an urgent briefing.
His partner Martin Riggs, played by Clayne Crawford, tells him that there has been a murder at the local park, and they need to investigate it. Murtaugh is hesitant because of his personal issues but decides to go because he doesn't want to let his partner down. Together, they head to the park to investigate the murder.
As they dig deeper, they find out that there may be a serial killer on the loose who is targeting women in the area. The killer has been dubbed 'The Epinephrine Killer' by the press, because he injects his victims with epinephrine after killing them. This leads to a race against time to catch the killer before he strikes again.
During the investigation, Murtaugh finds out that his captain, played by Kevin Rahm, has been covering up a murder for political reasons. This complicates the investigation because the captain doesn't want them to look into the case. However, Murtaugh doesn't back down and continues to push forward with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Riggs is dealing with some personal issues of his own. He has been trying to move on from the death of his wife, but has been struggling. He starts to get flashbacks to the day of her death and is unable to concentrate on the case. Murtaugh notices this and tries to help him through it.
As the episode progresses, the team starts to put the pieces together and gets closer to catching the killer. However, things take an unexpected turn when they find out that someone close to them may be involved in the case. This puts the team in a difficult situation, and they have to make tough decisions to catch the killer.
In the end, they are able to catch the killer and bring them to justice. Murtaugh is also able to help his daughter get her internship back by using his connections. The episode ends with a touching moment between Riggs and Murtaugh where they discuss their personal issues.
Overall, "The Roger and Me" is a thrilling episode that keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. It deals with important themes like family, loyalty, and justice, and does so in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. Fans of the show will not be disappointed with this episode.
