Ep 10. Homebodies

Roger and Riggs are called to investigate a case in a quiet and affluent residential neighbourhood after a staged burglary ends with an actual killing. The victim is an elderly woman, real estate agent, and also a suspect in a recent scandal involving the sale of homes to foreign investors. After talking to the victim's family, her colleagues, and neighbours, the detectives begin to uncover some disturbing secrets that the old lady might have been keeping from everyone.

Meanwhile, Trish and Roger try to figure out who is leaking information about the case to the media as news outlets begin to speculate about the victim's possible involvement in the real estate scandal. Roger suspects that his former partner, Santiago, might be involved as he was seen talking to a reporter outside the precinct. However, Trish believes that someone else might be behind the leak and encourages Roger to investigate further.

As Roger deals with the media, Riggs spends some time with the victim's granddaughter, who seems to have a troubled relationship with her family. She tells him about her aspirations to become a journalist and how she wants to expose the corruption in the city. Riggs takes a liking to her and encourages her to pursue her dreams.

Back at the precinct, Murtaugh and Bailey are working on a case involving a group of home invaders who target wealthy residents in the city. One of the suspects is caught and confesses to the crimes, revealing that they were hired to steal some valuable documents from one of the homes. He further reveals that the old lady, the victim in the murder case, was the one who hired them to steal the documents.

As the detectives dig deeper into the real estate scandal, they uncover more evidence that suggests the victim was involved in illegal activities. They also discover that she was not the only one involved and that there might be more people with a stake in the scandal. Meanwhile, Riggs, who has developed a close relationship with the victim's granddaughter, is faced with a difficult decision when he learns that she might be in danger.
