Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises is a 5-episode animated television show that premiered in February 2016 on Disney XD. Produced by Wil Film ApS and Lego System A/S, the show is a part of the Lego Star Wars franchise, which has been entertaining and delighting audiences since 1999. The Resistance Rises features a variety of beloved Star Wars characters, including many from the recent hit film, The Force Awakens.
Set in the same universe as the Star Wars movies, The Resistance Rises follows the adventures of the Resistance, a group of fighters that emerged to combat the evil First Order, which rose from the ashes of the fallen Empire. The Resistance is led by General Leia Organa, who is joined by a diverse range of heroes, including the hotshot pilot Poe Dameron, former stormtrooper Finn, and the plucky droid BB-8. Together, they fight against the forces of the First Order, which are led by the fearsome Kylo Ren and his master, Supreme Leader Snoke.
The first two episodes of the show are titled "Poe To The Rescue" and "The Trouble With Rathtars." In "Poe To The Rescue," Poe Dameron and BB-8 are sent on a mission to rescue the famed rebel pilot Admiral Ackbar, who has been captured by the First Order. The two face off against various enemies as they navigate through the enemy's base but are forced to get creative when they come across a squad of stormtroopers guarding their prisoner. The second episode, "The Trouble With Rathtars," follows Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Finn as they try to capture a group of dangerous creatures called Rathtars. Things quickly go awry when they discover that the creatures are far more difficult to handle than they anticipated.
The third episode, "Hunting For Han," sees the First Order targeting Han Solo, who is now on the run from the organization after his exploits in The Force Awakens. Meanwhile, Finn and Chewbacca try to track down a valuable piece of equipment that they need to keep the Millennium Falcon flying. Rey, another hero of The Force Awakens, makes an appearance in this episode, as does the crime boss Maz Kanata.
In "Rey Strikes Back," the fourth episode, Rey takes on the First Order with the help of BB-8 and Chewbacca. She must face off against a team of stormtroopers that has invaded the desert planet of Jakku in search of a powerful artifact. Along the way, she learns about the Force and how to harness its power to defeat her enemies. This episode also features appearances from Unkar Plutt and the bounty hunter Bala-Tik.
The final episode, "Attack Of The Conscience," sees Finn and Poe team up to take down a First Order starship that is carrying a dangerous weapon. However, as they encounter the ship's pilots, they realize that they have a shared history with them. The episode explores themes of redemption and forgiveness, as the two heroes must come to terms with their past actions and decide whether they should fight or find a way to live in peace.
Overall, Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises is a fun, action-packed show that will appeal to Star Wars fans of all ages. The voice actors do an excellent job of bringing the beloved characters to life, and the animation is both charming and exciting. The show also captures the spirit and humor of the Lego Star Wars games, which have been a favorite of gamers for years. While it may not have the same epic scope as the movies, The Resistance Rises provides plenty of entertainment and adventure for viewers who want to dive deeper into the Star Wars universe.
