Please And Fang You is the fourth episode of the third season of LEGO City Adventures. In this fun-filled episode, the LEGO City characters are engaged in their usual shenanigans when they discover a spooky and forgotten part of the city, the old Chinatown. What was once a bustling and lively centre of the city is now nothing but old and crumbling brick buildings.
The construction workers have been demolishing the old buildings in the area to make way for new apartments in the city when they found a hidden underground tunnel. In their curiosity, they decided to explore it and as they go inside, they discovered that the tunnel leads to an old Chinese temple. The temple has been abandoned for years, and nobody had ever been inside it. As they explore, they discover various clues and artifacts, including an old Chinese gong.
Mayor Fleck, who is very interested in real estate developments, has heard about the discovery made by the construction workers and decides to visit the temple. When he arrives, he is greeted by the Chinese owner of the temple, Mr. Fang. Fang is not pleased with the construction works in the area that have already destroyed several historical landmarks and concerns about the future of the temple. He pleads with Mayor Fleck to delay the construction for a ruling from the Historical Preservation Authority to save the temple.
Mayor Fleck is a stubborn mayor who wants Instant gratification for his city. However, he stops short of dismissing Mr. Fang's concern because he knows that the defenders of LEGO City are always on the lookout for a cause to rally behind, and this smaller issue could escalate quickly.
Meanwhile, the LEGO City police department is investigating a series of burglaries that are happening around the city. The thieves seem to be targeting valuable objects that have historical significance. The police have been trying to find the culprits but have had no success so far.
As the episode progresses, the story takes an interesting twist when it is discovered that the burglars are stealing valuable antiques that belong to the temple. Detective Harl Hubbs and the police force work to investigate the case and bring the criminals to justice.
The episode shines when it showcases the Chinese culture, and viewers get to see the historical significance of the temple to the Chinese community and its people. Although the episode does not get into great detail about the old temple, it is still informative viewing. Nevertheless, the show pays attention to details of the Chinese culture with the standard Chinese temple decorations and shields.
Overall, Please And Fang You is an exciting episode that is filled with action, comedy, and adventure. The LEGO City characters are a unique bunch of personalities, each with their quirks yet with a unifying vision to protect their city. As always, the adventures are family-friendly, and everyone in the household can sit down and enjoy them together. The storyline is engaging and will keep children entertained while teaching them valuable life lessons. LEGO City Adventures is a well-made show that is sure to entertain, inform and delight viewers of all ages.
