In Legacies season 2 episode 11, titled What Cupid Problem?, the students at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted are preparing for the annual Valentine's Day dance. However, things take an unexpected turn when the new Headmaster, Professor Vardemus, announces that the dance will be a Sadie Hawkins-style event, where the girls have to ask the boys to be their dates.
As the girls start to plot their strategies and the boys try to figure out who will ask them, Lizzie Saltzman discovers that Cupid, the God of Love, has been causing chaos at the school. Cupid has lost his magic arrows, which has led to random students falling in love with each other and causing disruption. Lizzie and Josie Saltzman, along with their friends, decide to track down Cupid's arrows and return them to him in order to restore order at the school.
As they search for the arrows, the students also have to deal with their own romantic dramas. Lizzie is conflicted about asking out Sebastian, who has been revealed to be a vampire. Josie is struggling with her feelings for Penelope after their breakup. Hope Mikaelson, the tribrid (a vampire, werewolf, and witch), is trying to navigate her feelings for Landon, who has recently returned from the dead with no memories of their relationship.
Meanwhile, the new Headmaster's true intentions for the school start to become clear. He tasks Alaric Saltzman, the school's founder and headmaster emeritus, with finding and returning a mystical artifact known as the Sphinx, which he claims will help protect the school from danger. However, Alaric soon realizes that Vardemus may not have the school's best interests at heart.
As the students continue their search for Cupid's arrows, they start to realize that their own feelings and relationships are more complicated than they thought. Lizzie must confront her own fears and insecurities in order to pursue a relationship with Sebastian. Josie must reconcile her desire for Penelope with her fear of getting hurt again. And Hope must come to terms with Landon's lack of memories and what that means for their relationship.
In the end, the students are able to return Cupid's arrows and restore order to the school. However, they also learn that love is never simple and that sometimes the hardest thing to do is to be honest with yourself and the people you care about. As the Valentine's Day dance comes to a close, the students are left to pick up the pieces of their hearts and move forward with a newfound understanding of themselves and each other.
