Beaver Cleaver is excited for his 11th birthday and can't wait to have his friends over for a party. However, things start to go wrong when he realizes that some of his friends may not be able to come. His best friend, Larry, has to attend a family wedding out of town, and Beaver's other close friend, Whitey, has the flu. Beaver becomes very upset and worries that nobody will be there to celebrate with him.
Meanwhile, his mother, June, is busy trying to plan the perfect party for her son. She goes all out with decorations, snacks, and entertainment, including a magician. However, Beaver becomes more and more disappointed as the day goes on and more of his guests cancel or don't show up.
To make matters worse, Beaver's older brother, Wally, and his friends think that Beaver's party is too childish and decide to go out and play football instead. Beaver becomes very angry and upset that his own brother isn't interested in spending time with him on his special day.
Despite all of this, Beaver's spirits are lifted when he receives a surprise gift from his father, Ward. The gift is a new bicycle, which Beaver has been wanting for a long time. He is overjoyed and grateful for the gift, and it helps him realize that having his family with him is more important than anything else.
In the end, Beaver's party turns out to be a success, even though not all of his friends could make it. He learns that sometimes things don't go as planned, but that's okay, and that he can still have a good time with the people who matter most to him.
