Ep 19. Beaver's Jacket

Beaver's Jacket is the 19th episode of the fifth season of Leave It to Beaver. The episode was originally aired on February 18, 1962, and was directed by Norman Abbott.

The episode begins with Beaver Cleaver, the central character of the show, getting ready for school on a Monday morning. As he tries to find his jacket, he realizes that it's missing. Beaver's mother, June, suggests that he might have left it at school or the park, but Beaver is sure that he brought it home and hung it up in the closet.

Beaver's older brother, Wally, gets involved and tries to help him find the jacket. However, they have no luck. This leads to Beaver feeling sad and disappointed.

That afternoon, Beaver goes to a friend's house, and he sees that his friend's little sister is wearing a jacket that looks similar to his. He asks her where she got it, and she tells him that it was in the lost and found at the park.

Beaver is convinced that the jacket is his, so he takes it from the little girl and wears it home. When he arrives home, Wally and June immediately recognize the jacket as being too small for Beaver. Wally jokingly suggests that Beaver has grown so much that he's now too big for his own jacket.

Beaver becomes even more convinced that the jacket is his and refuses to take it off. However, his parents start to become suspicious. They ask him where he got the jacket, and he tells them that he found it in the park. June becomes worried because she knows that Beaver has never lost anything before.

Later that evening, Ward, Beaver's father, comes home from work and sees Beaver wearing the jacket. He picks it up and realizes that it's not Beaver's jacket at all. Ward tells Beaver to take the jacket off and confess where he got it. Beaver admits that he took the jacket from the little girl.

At this point, Ward calls the child's parents and tells them what happened. The little girl's father comes over to the Cleaver's house to retrieve the jacket. When he arrives, Ward explains to him that Beaver will be punished for what he did.

In the end, Beaver learns an important lesson about the consequences of taking things that don't belong to him. The episode emphasizes the importance of honesty and integrity for young people.
