Wally's Chauffeur is the twelfth episode of the fifth season of the classic family sitcom, Leave It to Beaver. In this episode, Wally's friend, Eddie Haskell, convinces him to buy a beat-up old car for a bargain price. Wally is thrilled about the opportunity to fix up the car and make it his own, but quickly realizes that he needs to learn how to drive first.
Enter Beaver's best friend, Larry Mondello, who just happens to have his driver's license and offers to teach Wally how to drive. However, Larry proves to be a less-than-stellar driving instructor and ends up getting in a fender-bender with another car. When Wally's parents find out about the accident, they prohibit Wally from driving the car until he can find a responsible adult to teach him how to drive properly.
Desperate to get behind the wheel again, Wally turns to his dad, Ward, for help. Ward agrees to take over as Wally's driving instructor, but only if Wally can find someone to be his chauffeur for the time being. Eddie Haskell, always looking for a way to ingratiate himself with the Cleaver family, volunteers for the job, claiming that he's an excellent driver.
Wally is initially grateful to Eddie for his help, but soon realizes that Eddie's driving skills are just as questionable as Larry's. Eddie's reckless driving lands them in hot water when they accidentally run over a neighbor's prized garden gnome. To make matters worse, they flee the scene of the accident and Wally is wracked with guilt over their actions.
With the help of his dad, Wally learns an important lesson about responsibility and the importance of owning up to his mistakes. In the end, he turns himself in for the accident and helps to pay for the damages. Eddie, on the other hand, only causes more trouble by trying to cover up his involvement in the accident.
