In "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" season 7 episode 6, titled "Raw," the SVU team investigates the case of a high school girl who was brutally beaten and left for dead in a park. The victim, Hannah, was a straight-A student and a member of the school's swim team, so her attack comes as a shock to her community.
Detectives Stabler and Benson interview Hannah's friends and family to try and get a better idea of who would want to hurt her. They learn that Hannah had recently broken up with her boyfriend, a popular jock named Mike, and that he was not taking the breakup well. Mike initially denies any involvement in the attack, but his behavior becomes increasingly suspicious as the investigation progresses.
Meanwhile, Dr. Huang interviews Hannah in the hospital, hoping to get more information about her attacker. Hannah is initially hesitant to speak, but eventually reveals that she was assaulted by someone she knew, but cannot remember who.
The detectives also look into Hannah's online activity, and find that she was a member of a shocking website where high school students share explicit photos and videos. They track down the site's creator, a former student named Ben, who claims that the site was meant to be a harmless way for teens to express themselves. However, Stabler and Benson suspect that Ben may be more involved in Hannah's attack than he's letting on.
As the investigation heats up, the detectives must navigate the complicated social dynamics of a high school to uncover the truth about Hannah's assault. They encounter a number of suspects, including abusive boyfriends, jilted exes, and jealous classmates, before finally uncovering the shocking truth behind Hannah's attack.
"Raw" is a tense and emotional episode that tackles issues of sexual assault, cyberbullying, and teenage sexuality head-on. Through the story of Hannah and her friends, the show sheds light on the difficult and sometimes harrowing experiences that many high school students face in their personal lives. As always, the SVU team handles the case with sensitivity and professionalism, while still managing to deliver a thrilling and satisfying resolution.
