As the case moves forward, the detectives begin to realize that the factory where Marisol worked may have more secrets than they initially thought. They also come up against resistance from a community that is unwilling to cooperate with the police for fear of deportation.

As the detectives struggle to find justice for Marisol, they must also navigate their own personal lives and struggles.
