Ep 10. Motherly Love

Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino) investigate a case involving a woman who claims she was raped by her ex-boyfriend, but has no recollection of the assault due to being under the influence of drugs. As they delve deeper into the case, they discover that the woman's mother has been drugging her in order to keep her dependent on her.

Meanwhile, Assistant District Attorney Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza) handles the case of a teenage boy who sexually assaulted a young girl after they met through a social media app. The boy claims that he thought the girl was older than she actually was, and Barba must determine if he is guilty of a crime or if he was a victim of a dishonest profile.

As both cases unfold, Benson struggles with the loss of her longtime friend and colleague, Sergeant Dodds (Andy Karl), who was killed in the line of duty. She is forced to confront her own mortality and the dangers of her job, while also trying to balance her personal life with her career.
