Ep 5. Depths

Detective Goren and Detective Eames of the Major Case Squad are assigned to investigate the drowning death of a college student. As they begin their investigation, they discover a disturbing video of the victim and two of her friends experimenting with a new drug that causes temporary blindness.

Further investigation leads the detectives to a man who has been experimenting with psychedelic drugs for years and may be responsible for the development and distribution of the new and dangerous drug. The man claims to have no knowledge of the drug's potency and insists that he never intended to harm anyone.

As the case unfolds, Goren and Eames find themselves drawn into the shadowy world of experimental drugs and the dangerous subculture that surrounds them. Their only hope is to find the source of the drug before any more innocent people are harmed.

Amidst all of this, Goren's mother, Frances, begins to spiral out of control and starts hoarding trash and taking in stray animals. Goren quickly realizes that his mother is suffering from a mental illness and tries to get her the help she needs.

With time running out and the death toll rising, Goren and Eames race against the clock to catch the mastermind behind the new drug before anyone else is harmed. With every twist and turn, the detectives must rely on their gut instincts and their ability to think outside the box if they hope to solve this complex case.
