In Law & Order: CI season 6 episode 9, titled "Blasters," Detectives Goren and Eames investigate a bombing outside a spa that leaves several people injured and one person dead. As they delve into the case, they discover that the bomb was not made by a professional, and was likely crafted by one of the cult members associated with the spa's owner, Trudy Pomeranski.
Trudy is a New Age guru who preaches holistic healing and attracts a loyal following of people looking for guidance and spiritual healing. Her organization, the Blasters, is known for their extreme views on diet and health, and many of their members have experienced health complications due to their strict regimen.
As Goren and Eames investigate the bombing, they realize that the Blasters are not as peaceful as they seem. Trudy and her right-hand woman, Sister Olivia, are willing to do whatever it takes to protect their beliefs and their members, even if it means resorting to violence.
The detectives track down various members of the Blasters, all of whom are fiercely protective of their organization and refuse to speak to the police. Goren's intuition leads him to suspect that one of the members, a young man named Jasper, may have made the bomb. However, when they bring him in for questioning, he maintains his innocence and refuses to give them any information.
As Goren and Eames continue to investigate, they discover a web of lies and deceit surrounding the Blasters organization. They learn that Trudy and Sister Olivia have been embezzling money from their followers, and have been using the funds to live lavish lifestyles. They also discover that Sister Olivia is not actually a nun, but rather a former criminal who changed her identity and joined the Blasters to escape her past.
Eventually, Goren and Eames are able to piece together the pieces of the puzzle and uncover the truth behind the bombing. They discover that Trudy had ordered the attack on the spa to prevent one of her former members, who had threatened to expose her fraudulent practices, from publicly speaking out against her. Jasper was only a pawn in the plan, and was not responsible for the bomb.
In the end, Trudy and Sister Olivia are arrested for their crimes, and the members of the Blasters are left to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild their lives without their guiding leaders. Goren and Eames are left to reflect on the dangerous power that cults can hold over vulnerable individuals, and the lengths that some people will go to protect their own interests.
