In Law & Order: Criminal Intent season 3 episode 8, titled "Sound Bodies," Detective Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) are called to investigate a string of murders that all seem to have a common theme: music. The victims are all musicians, and the clues left at the crime scenes suggest that the killer has a deep obsession with music.
As Goren and Eames begin to dig deeper into the case, they discover a web of secrets and betrayals in the music industry. They soon realize that the killer may have a personal connection to one of the victims, and that this connection could be the key to cracking the case.
As they interview witnesses and suspects, Goren and Eames find themselves at odds with the arrogant and manipulative record executive Miles Sennett (played by guest star Fisher Stevens). Sennett is the owner of the record label that the victims were all signed to, and he seems to be hiding something.
As the investigation heats up, Goren becomes increasingly obsessed with solving the case. He becomes convinced that the killer is using the music industry as a way to express his own twisted creativity, and he begins to see connections in everything from the lyrics of the victims' songs to the type of instruments they played.
As the detectives close in on the killer, they find themselves in a race against time to prevent him from striking again. But as Goren and Eames get closer to the truth, they discover that the killer may be much closer to home than they ever could have imagined.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to the trademark Law & Order twists and turns, as well as the unique insight into the mind of Detective Goren. With its engaging storyline, solid acting, and attention to detail, "Sound Bodies" is a standout episode in the already excellent Law & Order: Criminal Intent series.
