Christian Slater, Retta, Sam Hunt, and Matt Sorum are the guests on Late Night with Seth Meyers season 3 episode 3. The show opens with Seth's monologue, where he jokes about the latest news and current events. The first guest, Christian Slater, joins Seth for an interview. Slater talks about his latest project, Mr. Robot and how he prepared for his role as the enigmatic Mr. Robot, his feelings about the show's success, and his love for New York City. The conversation shifts to Slater's early career, and he shares some colorful anecdotes from his youth.

Next, Seth welcomes Retta to the show. Retta is an actress best known for her role as Donna Meagle in the TV show Parks and Recreation. She talks about her new book, So Close to Being the Sh*t, Y'all Don't Even Know, which she describes as a "part memoir, part collection of essays, and jokes." Retta shares stories about her childhood, including her first job working the concessions at the local movie theater, and her journey to becoming a successful comedian and actress.

Later in the show, country music star Sam Hunt takes the stage to perform his latest hit, "Body Like a Back Road." Hunt also sits down with Seth for a brief interview, where he talks about his success in the music industry, his approach to songwriting, and his upcoming album. Hunt also talks about how he balances his private life with his public persona and his love of writing songs about his personal experiences.

Finally, Seth is joined by musician Matt Sorum, the former drummer of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Sorum talks about his new memoir, Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'n' Roll Stories from the Drummer of Guns N' Roses, and shares some stories from his time on the road with some of the biggest rock bands in history. He also talks about his passion for music education and his work with Adopt the Arts, a nonprofit organization that provides funding for music and arts programs in public schools.

Throughout the episode, Seth also shares some hilarious- and sometimes cringe-worthy- audience reactions to some of the more bizarre news stories of the day in a segment called "Ya Burnt." The show concludes with Seth thanking his guests and promoting upcoming episodes of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
