The friends hope that this debate will sway voters towards Mrs. Avery and help her win re-election.

Despite some bumps in the road, the town hall meeting goes off without a hitch. Both candidates make their case to the voters, and the friends watch nervously as the citizens of Holmfirth cast their votes. In the end, only time will tell whether their efforts were successful or not.
