Last of the Summer Wine Season 2 Episode 2, titled "Who's That Dancing With Nora Batty Then?" follows the comical misadventures of the elderly trio, Compo, Clegg, and Foggy. The episode takes place in the picturesque village of Holmfirth, and revolves around Compo's infatuation and desire to dance with fellow village resident, Nora Batty.

Compo is an unrefined, unkempt, and impulsive character who spends most of his time dreaming up eccentric schemes and chasing after women. He is enamored with Nora Batty, a stern and no-nonsense type of woman who is known for her wrinkled stockings and intimidating personality. Compo is convinced that they are meant to be together and comes up with a plan to win her affection.

Meanwhile, Clegg, the level-headed member of the trio, is convinced that they should help their friend Smiler. Smiler is deeply in love with a local girl and Clegg believes that they can help him by teaching him how to dance. Despite Compo's protestations, they visit an elderly dance instructor, Mr. Wainwright, who teaches them the basics of ballroom dancing. The trio's antics are comedic as they struggle to master the basic steps while under the tutelage of Mr. Wainwright.

As the episode progresses, Compo's feelings for Nora intensify, and he becomes increasingly desperate to get her attention. He enlists the help of his friends to find out what she likes in a man and decides to try and impress her by dancing with her at a local ballroom. The trio goes to considerable lengths to ensure that Compo's plan works, including buying him a fancy suit and teaching him how to use a pocket watch.

As the ballroom scene unfolds, the trio is surprised to see Nora Batty's estranged husband, Luther, show up at the event. They had believed that Nora was a widow and had been shocked to hear that she was still married. The episode takes an unexpected turn as Luther demands to dance with Nora. Compo, fueled by jealousy and his desire to win Nora's affection, challenges Luther to a dance-off. The resulting dance floor antics are hilarious and a hallmark of the show's brand of humor.

As the episode comes to a close, viewers are left wondering if Compo finally won Nora's heart, what happened to Smiler, and how the trio will get into mischief in the next episode. The second episode of Last of the Summer Wine Season 2 is a perfect example of the show's uncanny ability to combine humor, slapstick comedy, and relatable characters to produce unforgettable television.
