Ep 10. Avalanche

Lassie is a classic TV series that first aired in 1954 and ran for 19 seasons. It follows the adventures of a courageous and loyal collie named Lassie and her human family. Lassie is always ready to protect and help her family, both in the comfort of their home and in the great outdoors.

Season 1 episode 10, titled "Avalanche," opens with Lassie and her young owner, Jeff, out on a skiing trip in the mountains. Jeff is a skilled skier, but a sudden avalanche catches him off guard and he gets buried under the snow. Lassie immediately senses the danger and starts barking for help. Luckily, the noise alerts some nearby rescuers who are able to dig Jeff out just in time.

Once they are safe, Lassie and Jeff meet the rescue team, which includes an experienced mountain guide named Mr. Provost. Mr. Provost is impressed with Lassie's bravery and skill, and he asks Jeff if he and Lassie would like to join him on a backcountry skiing adventure the next day. Jeff is excited about the opportunity, but his mother is worried about the dangers of skiing in such treacherous terrain. Nonetheless, she reluctantly agrees to let Jeff and Lassie go, knowing that Lassie is always looking out for their safety.

The next day, Jeff, Lassie, and Mr. Provost set out on their skiing expedition. Everything is going smoothly until they reach a narrow pass that is blocked by a large rockslide. Mr. Provost decides that they have to try and ski over the rocks, but the ice is too slippery and they all fall down.

Jeff and Lassie are separated from Mr. Provost in the process, and they are left stranded on a narrow ledge high up on the mountain. Jeff is injured and unable to move, and Lassie knows that it's up to her to find help. The loyal collie manages to climb down the mountain and runs off into the wilderness to search for assistance.

Meanwhile, Mr. Provost is also stranded, and he decides to try and make his way down the mountain on his own. However, he soon realizes that he is lost and turned around. As night falls, Mr. Provost sets up camp and tries to stay warm by building a fire. Little does he know, a pack of wolves is closing in on him.

Back on the mountain ledge, Jeff is growing weaker by the minute. He's in a lot of pain and he's worried that he and Lassie won't be rescued in time. However, he trusts that Lassie will be able to find help, and he tries to stay awake and alert.

In the middle of the night, Lassie returns with the rescue team, who have been frantically searching for her and Jeff. They find Jeff on the ledge and are able to get him to safety.

Meanwhile, Mr. Provost is still fighting for survival against the wolves. Just when all hope seems lost, Lassie arrives on the scene and manages to scare off the wolves by barking and nipping at their heels. With the predators gone, Lassie leads Mr. Provost out of the wilderness and back to safety.

In the end, everyone is reunited, safe and sound. It's a heartwarming episode that showcases Lassie's courage, loyalty, and intelligence. It's no wonder that this show has been a favorite of generations of viewers.
