In Las Vegas Season 2 Episode 17 titled 'Tainted Love,' the Montecito Resort and Casino is all set to host a high-profile sporting event, The World Council Boxing Championship, which has attracted elite boxers from across the world. Ed Deline (played by James Caan), the president of operations at the Montecito, is thrilled to host such a prestigious event. However, things don't go as planned when one of the star boxers, Tony Sabetta, is found dead in his hotel room. His death comes as a shock to everyone, and Ed sets out to investigate the matter before the event gets canceled.
As the investigation proceeds, it is revealed that Tony was in a secret relationship with a stunning hotel guest named Ellie. She is the prime suspect in Sabetta's death but claims to have a solid alibi. Her insistence that she had nothing to do with Tony's murder seems genuine. But the evidence against her is strong, and things get complicated when her influential father steps in to clear her name.
Meanwhile, Danny and Mike are assigned the task of ensuring the safety of a wealthy Texan businessman named Sanders. Sanders has come to Vegas to watch his boxing idol, Bruno, compete in the championship. With Bruno as the favorite to win, Sanders has placed a massive bet on him. However, Danny and Mike soon realize that Sanders' life is in danger, and there may be more at stake than just his bet.
At the same time, Delinda and Mary have a new problem to deal with. A group of rowdy football players has checked into the hotel, and they are behaving like they own the place. Delinda, who is now in charge of the Montecito's entertainment division, needs to find a way to keep them entertained and out of trouble. Mary, on the other hand, has a difficult time dealing with the players, particularly one who has taken a liking to her.
As the episode progresses, the various storylines intersect and entwine, giving rise to a tense and dramatic climax. The episode is peppered with witty one-liners and sharp dialogue, making it an engaging watch.
Overall, 'Tainted Love' is a high-energy episode that combines humor, romance, and suspense to create an entertaining hour of television. With its intriguing plot, strong performances, and slick direction, it is one of the standout episodes of Las Vegas Season 2.
