Ep 7. Pros and Cons

In the seventh episode of Las Vegas season 1, titled "Pros and Cons," we see the Montecito Casino deal with a range of challenges. The episode begins with Ed Deline, the casino's director of operations, receiving a call from his ex-wife, who says that her current husband has gone missing. Ed takes it upon himself to locate her husband by investigating his possible whereabouts in Vegas.

Meanwhile, the surveillance team at the Montecito notice that a new high-roller, Duncan, is counting cards at the blackjack table. Despite having a strong suspicion that he's cheating, the casino can't catch him in the act. Sam persuades Ed to bring in a security consultant, Gavin Brunson, to assess the Montecito's surveillance systems and crack the case.

As they try to deal with the card-counting issue, Danny, the casino's head of security, gets a surprise visit from his younger brother, Matthew. Danny is not pleased to see him, as Matthew is notorious for causing trouble. However, he quickly finds himself unable to resist his little brother's charms and agrees to let him stay with him temporarily.

Elsewhere in the casino, Mary is approached by a man who claims that he used to date her sister but never had the chance to say goodbye to her. The man, Nick, asks Mary to help him locate her sister, and as they search, they begin to develop feelings for each other.

As the episode progresses, we see Ed, Sam, and Gavin working together to catch the cheating high-roller. They use some innovative surveillance tactics to keep an eye on his every move and try to trip him up. Around the same time, Danny finds out that Matthew has fallen in with the wrong crowd, and the two brothers have a heart-to-heart conversation that leads to a resolution.

Towards the end of the episode, we see the various plotlines coming to a head. Gavin devises a clever solution to catch Duncan in the act of cheating, and the Montecito staff breathe a sigh of relief. Mary and Nick continue their search for Mary's sister, and their relationship progresses further. As for Ed, his search for his ex-wife's husband takes an unexpected turn.
