In the season 1 episode 21 of Las Vegas titled "Family Jewels," the intensity of the surveillance team of the Montecito reaches a new height when they must monitor the activities of a wealthy Middle Eastern prince, who is visiting the hotel with his several wives. The episode introduces two formidable female characters, while welcoming back one of the most popular guest characters from earlier in the season.

The episode begins with Ed Deline, security Chief of Montecito, putting his team on alert as the hotel prepares for the arrival of the Middle Eastern prince Mansour Nafisi. Due to his wealth and status, the prince is staying in the extravagant Royal Suite of the hotel, and his several wives are occupying the adjoining suites. The surveillance team of the Montecito is tasked with monitoring the activities of the prince and his wives, which poses a significant challenge due to his celebrity status and diplomatic immunity.

As the team begins to monitor the prince's activity, it becomes clear that he has an exceptionally high-stakes poker game scheduled for the evening. The poker game has a starting buy-in of $1 million, with several of the wealthiest players in the world expected to attend. Security for the game is tight, with the Montecito team working closely with the FBI.

Meanwhile, Danny McCoy, the ex-Marine who works as a bouncer, has his hands full optimizing the event. Back in the casino, Nessa Holt, the casino manager, is dealing with her own problems. A new competitor casino has opened just next door, and it has been drawing away from the Montecito's clientele. Nessa has to come up with a cunning plan to save the Montecito from losing customers to the hotel next door. Simultaneously, she has her hands full trying to ensure that the prince and his bevy of wives do not draw negative attention.

As the poker game commences, the surveillance team has its eyes glued to the high stakes game, ensuring that there is no cheating and no one gets hurt. The prince ends up winning the game, and all the participants leave immensely dissatisfied. However, security footage shows that one of the poker players has a history of cheating, leading to a significant investigation. Sam, a hostess at the hotel, is tasked with keeping the prince and his wives occupied throughout the investigation.

Throughout the episode, the character of Ed Deline takes the forefront. He battles his insecurities and vulnerabilities by seeking out the company of wealthy women and on this day, he invites his daughter Delinda Deline over for what will turn into a complicated father-daughter relationship when emotions and business collide surprisingly.

The episode ends by bringing together all the parallel storylines, with Nessa deciding to take matters into her hands and employ some unexpected and extreme measures to thwart the competition. Meanwhile, the investigation into the cheating at the poker game intensifies, and the Montecito team discovers unexpected consequences.

Overall, the "Family Jewels" episode of Las Vegas is packed with twists, turns, and thrilling moments that keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The episode effectively presents parallel storylines of casino management, security, and family dynamics, all of which are woven seamlessly to create an exciting and entertaining hour of TV drama.
