In the first episode of Land of the Lost, titled "Cha-Ka," viewers are introduced to the Marshall family: Rick, Will, and Holly. The family is on a routine expedition when they suddenly find themselves transported to a mysterious land full of danger and adventure.
As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them, the Marshalls stumble upon a young boy named Cha-Ka, who is being chased by a group of hostile lizard-like creatures called Sleestaks. Recognizing that they are both in danger, the Marshalls step in to help Cha-Ka, and together they flee from the Sleestaks.
As they continue their journey, the Marshalls discover that the land they are in is filled with strange creatures and wonders they never imagined. They also realize that they are not alone in this world—there are other human-like creatures living there as well, such as a race of primates that capture Holly.
Determined to rescue Holly, Rick and Will set off on a mission to find her, while Cha-Ka and her fellow primates try to help them. However, they soon discover that even the friendly creatures in this land have their own agendas, and making allies is not as easy as they thought.
Throughout the episode, viewers get a taste of the dangers and wonders of the Land of the Lost. They witness the Marshalls facing off against giant creatures, being chased by the Sleestaks, and narrowly escaping from treacherous pitfalls. At the same time, they explore the vast landscapes of the land, which seem to shift and change in mysterious ways.
