La Femme Nikita was a popular Canadian television series that first premiered in 1997. Based on the 1990 French film Nikita, the show follows the story of Nikita, a young woman who is recruited by a secret government organization called Section One to become a highly trained assassin.
The show's second season's third episode, titled "Third Person," follows Nikita as she goes back to her old stomping grounds to try and recruit a new agent for Section One. Nikita is tasked with convincing a rebellious and skeptical college student named Simone to join the organization.
The episode begins with a new operation for Section One. A wealthy and influential businessman is in possession of a state-of-the-art encryption key, and Section One needs it to continue their operations. The head of Section One, Operations, assigns Nikita to the mission.
Nikita's first plan of action is to recruit Simone, the daughter of the businessman with the encryption key. Simone is a fiery and independent college student who is resistant to Nikita's offers to join Section One. Nikita tries to appeal to Simone's sense of adventure and her desire to help people. However, Simone remains skeptical, feeling that those within the organization only care about themselves.
While Nikita continues to try and recruit Simone, Operations assigns Michael to retrieve the encryption key by any means necessary. Michael decides to take a more violent approach, breaking into the businessman's home and threatening him and his family with harm. Nikita is horrified, realizing that Michael is willing to do whatever it takes to complete the mission.
As Operations and Michael continue their brutal tactics, Nikita becomes more determined to convince Simone to join Section One. She takes Simone on a dangerous mission to infiltrate an enemy organization's headquarters, hoping to show Simone the importance of Section One's work.
As the episode progresses, we see the different sides of Section One. On one hand, they are a powerful and effective organization dedicated to keeping the world safe. On the other hand, they are willing to resort to extreme violence and manipulation to achieve their goals. Nikita grapples with her conflicting feelings towards the organization, and whether or not she is still on board with their methods.
In the end, "Third Person" is an action-packed episode with plenty of twists and turns. Nikita's attempts to recruit Simone make for an engaging storyline, while Michael's ruthless tactics add a darker edge to the drama. The episode also delves deeper into the organization of Section One, giving viewers a more nuanced look at what the group is willing to do to get what they want.
Overall, "Third Person" is an exciting and thought-provoking episode that will leave viewers eagerly anticipating what happens next in Nikita's world.
