Ep 1. Episode 1
The show La casa de papel follows a group of eight criminals who carry out a meticulously planned robbery on the Royal Mint of Spain. The first episode introduces us to the mastermind behind the heist, a mysterious man known only as "The Professor," who has spent years planning the perfect robbery. The Professor recruits a team of highly skilled individuals, each with their own unique set of talents, to carry out the heist.
The episode begins with the team of criminals getting ready for the heist. They have all been given code names, and are wearing identical red jumpsuits and Salvador Dali masks to hide their identities. The team consists of Tokyo, Moscow, Berlin, Rio, Denver, Nairobi, Helsinki, and Oslo. We see them preparing weapons, studying blueprints of the Mint, and practicing their roles in the heist.
Meanwhile, The Professor is watching everything from a control room, monitoring their progress and making sure everything is going according to plan. We learn that he has been studying the Mint for years, and has even gone so far as to create a replica of the building to use for training.
As the team prepares to enter the Mint, their plan hits a snag when Denver's father, who also works at the Mint, shows up unexpectedly. Denver is torn between his loyalty to his team and his love for his father, and decides to let him go rather than risking his life.
Once inside the Mint, the team begins to carry out their plan. They must print billions of euros in cash while dealing with a group of hostages and the police outside. They use various tactics to manipulate the hostages into siding with them, including pretending to be radical activists fighting against the corrupt government.
As the episode progresses, tensions rise both inside and outside the Mint. We see the police struggling to maintain control of the situation, while the hostages begin to turn against the criminals as they realize the gravity of the situation. The team must use all of their skills and resources to keep the situation from spiraling out of control.
