Ep 18. For That Love

Yuuri's childhood friend, Murata Ken, visits the Demon Kingdom and delivers to Yuuri a postcard from Earth. As Yuuri reads the postcard, Murata explains that the contents of the postcard are the result of Yuuri's mother's love for him. Meanwhile, at Blood Pledge Castle, the Maou and his courtiers prepare for an upcoming festival that will be hosted by the Fire Tribe. The festival will feature a beauty contest, and Lord von Voltaire, the Fire Tribe representative, intends to offer his own daughter, Stoffel, as the prize. Lord von Voltaire also challenges the Maou to a match of wits, pitting the Fire Tribe's hand-picked champion, a calculating and manipulative woman named Cecilie, against the Maou's court jester, Gwendal. Yuuri is particularly taken by Stoffel's gentle nature and is determined to prevent her from being forced into marriage. In addition, he puts the safety of the people of Blood Pledge Castle and members of his court ahead of his personal wishes. As the contest continues, the Maou's loyalty to his court and country is tested once again.
