In KOKKOKU season 1 episode 2 entitled The Second Moment, we pick up where we left off in the previous episode. Juri and her grandfather are still using the special stone to enter Stasis, a realm where time stands still, in order to save Juri's brother and nephew from the evil organization known as the Genuine Love Society. The episode begins with Juri's grandfather explaining the rules of Stasis to her and how they need to be careful not to use too much power, as it is finite.
We then see Juri and her family members trapped by the members of the Genuine Love Society in a warehouse. Their captors reveal their true intentions and demand that Juri's grandfather hand over the stone. However, using their unique ability to enter Stasis, Juri and her grandfather are able to outsmart their captors and rescue their family members.
As Juri's family members recuperate, her grandfather explains the history of the stone and how it has been passed down through their family for generations. He also reveals that there is a way to break the curse that has been placed on Juri's brother, allowing him to wake up from his coma. However, this will require them to enter Stasis once again and find the “Master of Stasis”, who has the power to break the curse.
But before they can do that, they need to find out more about the Genuine Love Society and their true motives. With the help of one of the members who has defected from the organization, Juri and her grandfather learn that the Society's ultimate goal is to create a world where only those who they deem worthy are allowed to exist, while everyone else is erased from existence. This revelation sparks a sense of urgency within Juri and her family members, as they realize they need to stop the Society from achieving their goal before it's too late.
The episode also explores the strained relationship between Juri and her older brother, who has been in a coma for many years. Juri harbors feelings of guilt and responsibility for her brother's condition, as she was the one who inadvertently caused it. Her brother's fiancée also blames Juri for her fiancé's condition, creating even more tension between the two.
Overall, KOKKOKU season 1 episode 2 is a thrilling continuation of the story, introducing new elements to the plot while also developing the relationships between the characters. The concept of Stasis and the unique abilities it grants its users is intriguing, and the show does a great job of exploring the potential and limitations of this power. The episode also introduces a formidable antagonist in the form of the Genuine Love Society, adding another layer of suspense and danger to the story.
