Michael and KITT are called in by Devon to investigate a gang of car thieves known as The Rotten Apples who have been stealing luxury vehicles and selling them on the black market. One of the cars they stole was a prototype vehicle that was being developed by a company that has ties to the Foundation for Law and Government. Michael and KITT suspect that the gang may be planning to sell the stolen prototype to a foreign government or another criminal organization.
Michael and KITT begin their investigation by infiltrating the garage where the Rotten Apples operate. Michael poses as a mechanic while KITT uses his advanced technology to scan the area for any clues. They discover that the gang is led by a ruthless woman named Cassandra who is willing to do anything to protect her operation. Michael and KITT also uncover evidence that suggests that someone inside the Foundation for Law and Government may be working with the Rotten Apples.
As they continue their investigation, Michael and KITT find themselves in a race against time to stop the Rotten Apples before they can sell the stolen prototype. Along the way, they encounter a number of obstacles including high-speed chases, shootouts, and a fierce battle with a group of skilled martial artists. Michael must use all of his skills and the help of KITT to outsmart the Rotten Apples and bring them to justice.
Meanwhile, Devon is dealing with his own troubles as he tries to uncover the identity of the mole inside the Foundation for Law and Government. He enlists the help of Bonnie Barstow, a computer expert who works for the Foundation. Together, they uncover a shocking plot that threatens to bring down the entire organization.
In the end, Michael and KITT are able to stop the Rotten Apples and recover the stolen prototype. They also uncover the identity of the mole inside the Foundation for Law and Government and bring them to justice. With the danger averted, Michael and KITT return to their normal duties, ready for their next adventure.
