Ep 1. La Galleria 33 (Part 1)

In Kitchen Nightmares USA season 5 episode 1, host Gordon Ramsay visits La Galleria 33, a Italian restaurant in Boston's North End neighborhood. The episode begins with Ramsay talking about how the restaurant has been struggling since it opened, despite the fact that the owners, sisters Rita and Lisa, come from a family with a long history in the restaurant business.

When Ramsay arrives, he is greeted by the sisters and given a tour of the restaurant. They show him the dining room, the kitchen, and the storage area, which is cluttered and disorganized. Ramsay also meets the staff, including head chef Pino and sous chef Martin.

After observing the kitchen in action, Ramsay sits down for a meal and is unimpressed with the food. He finds the dishes bland and uninspired, and is especially critical of the lasagna, which he says is dry and lacking in flavor.

Ramsay then meets with the sisters to discuss his concerns and asks them to take him through the menu. He is surprised to find that the dishes they describe don't match up with what he ate, and realizes that the kitchen is not following the same recipes that the sisters have approved.

Next, Ramsay observes a dinner service and is shocked by the chaotic atmosphere in the kitchen. The chefs are shouting at each other and a dish is sent back to the kitchen multiple times due to errors. Ramsay eventually intervenes and helps the team get back on track.

The episode ends with Ramsay telling the sisters that he will be returning for a second visit to see if the changes he has suggested have been implemented.
