Kitchen Boss Season 1 Episode 26: Pasta Classics

In this episode of Kitchen Boss, host Buddy Valastro prepares some of the most classic and beloved pasta dishes. Buddy is passionate about pasta, and throughout the episode, he shares some of his favorite recipes while also providing tips and techniques for making perfect pasta every time.

The first dish Buddy makes is spaghetti and meatballs, a classic Italian-American staple. He starts by making the meatballs, mixing together ground beef, breadcrumbs, cheese, and several other ingredients. Buddy emphasizes the importance of using good-quality meat and making sure to mix the ingredients together well. He then shapes the mixture into meatballs and fries them in a hot pan until they're golden brown. While the meatballs cook, Buddy prepares the spaghetti, boiling it until it's al dente. Finally, he combines the meatballs and spaghetti in a large serving dish and tops everything with homemade tomato sauce.

Next up is fettuccine Alfredo, another classic pasta dish that's always a crowd-pleaser. Buddy starts by cooking the fettuccine, again stressing the importance of cooking it until it's al dente. He then makes the Alfredo sauce, which is made from butter, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and a few other ingredients. Buddy advises viewers to be patient when making the sauce, making sure to whisk it constantly so it doesn't burn or curdle. Once the sauce is finished, he tosses it with the cooked fettuccine and garnishes the dish with some chopped parsley.

For the third dish, Buddy makes linguine with clam sauce, a classic Italian seafood pasta. He starts by sautéing garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil, using a large pan so that there's plenty of room for the clams. Once the garlic is fragrant, he adds in some white wine and the clams themselves, cooking everything until the clams open up. Meanwhile, he cooks the linguine until it's al dente and then adds it to the pan with the clams, tossing everything together. Finally, he garnishes the linguine with some chopped parsley and serves it with a piece of crusty bread.

The final dish of the episode is penne alla vodka, another classic pasta dish that's beloved by many. Buddy starts by sautéing garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil, then adding in a can of crushed tomatoes and some heavy cream. He also adds in a splash of vodka, which he says helps to bring out the flavors of the tomatoes and cream. While the sauce simmers, he cooks the penne until it's al dente. Once everything is ready, he combines the pasta and sauce in a large serving dish and garnishes it with some freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Throughout the episode, Buddy emphasizes the importance of using high-quality ingredients and paying attention to the details when cooking pasta. He also provides plenty of tips and tricks, such as using a large pot to cook pasta and adding a bit of pasta water to your sauce to help it thicken and cling to the pasta.

Overall, Pasta Classics is a great episode for anyone who loves pasta or Italian cuisine in general. With four classic pasta dishes that are easy to make and full of flavor, Buddy Valastro proves once again that he's a master in the kitchen.
