The episode starts with Kit and Kate eagerly waiting for their birthday, which is only a few days away. They are excited and can't stop talking about what kind of gifts they will receive from their parents. They are expecting expensive and luxurious gifts from their parents because they have been good all year.
As the day of their birthday approaches, Kit and Kate's parents inform them that they have a surprise gift for them, but they have to wait until the party. Kit and Kate are curious and can't wait to see what it is.
On the day of the party, Kit and Kate's parents announce that their surprise gift is actually a trip to a wildlife sanctuary. Kit and Kate are disappointed and upset because they were expecting something more luxurious. They refuse to go on the trip and throw a tantrum, demanding that their parents buy them expensive gifts instead.
Their parents try to reason with them and explain the importance of experiencing nature and taking care of the environment. Kit and Kate have a change of heart and begin to appreciate the natural world around them. They realize that the trip was a much better gift than anything materialistic, and that they are grateful to have parents who care about their education and personal growth.
