The Lineup is the 11th episode of Kingdom's second season, a drama series centered on the life of a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) family, the Kulina.
The episode begins with Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria), a former fighter and current coach, training with his ex-girlfriend Alicia (Natalie Martinez). They are interrupted by Garo (Nick Jonas), a young fighter who is bothered by rumors that his opponent Melendez is cheating. Ryan does not believe this is true, but Garo seems determined to prove it.
Meanwhile, Lisa (Kiele Sanchez), the Kulina matriarch, is struggling with her sobriety and admits to her husband, Alvey (Frank Grillo), that she almost took a dispiriting drug that day. Alvey takes her to an AA meeting, hoping to help her stay on track.
At the gym, Navid (Jonathan Tucker) is preparing for his fight with Melendez, but has some concerns about his own stamina. Jay (Jonathan Tucker) offers to help him, but Navid refuses, insisting that he wants to do this on his own.
Later, at the weigh-in, tensions run high as Garo confronts Melendez about cheating. An altercation ensues and Garo finds himself unable to fight when he is disqualified from the match. Meanwhile, Ryan and Alicia's relationship is strained when he learns that she had an affair with Alvey.
The episode ends with Navid fighting Melendez in the octagon and struggling to keep up. Jay watches helplessly, overcome with guilt for not doing more to help his friend. Meanwhile, Lisa receives an unexpected phone call that forces her to confront her past.
The Lineup is a tense and emotionally charged episode that explores the complicated relationships and inner demons of the Kulina family. With the stakes high and tensions mounting, viewers are left on the edge of their seats as the episode ends with a cliffhanger.
