In the second episode of Kingdom season 2, titled "The Silent Battlefield," the tension and drama in the Korean palace continue to worsen as the plague spreads and rumors of a rebellion swirl around the royals.
Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji-hoon) has now taken his personal physician Seo-bi (Bae Doona) and his loyal bodyguard Moo-young (Kim Sang-ho) on the road, fleeing his father's wrath and searching for the truth about the epidemic that is plaguing the kingdom.
As they make their way through the countryside, the trio stumbles upon a new group of survivors who are keeping quiet about their situation. Seo-bi, a talented physician, senses that something is off about the village and starts to investigate the cause of the villagers' strange behavior.
At the same time, the prince faces new danger as his father starts a manhunt for him, calling upon the Chief State Councilor Jo Hak-joo (Ryu Seung-ryong) and his minions to track him down and bring him back to the palace. Chang has to use all his wit and cunning to evade his father's men and stay alive.
Meanwhile, the tensions inside the palace escalate as the young queen Cho (Kim Hye-jun), who is pregnant with the heir to the throne, becomes more and more isolated from her husband, King Cho (Kim Young-chul). She starts to suspect that something is gravely wrong with the kingdom, and her suspicions only deepen when she receives a box bearing the crest of her father's clan.
The second episode of Kingdom season 2 is a gripping installment that further deepens the mysteries of the kingdom and raises the stakes for its characters.
