Hank is frustrated when he discovers that his new neighbor, Junichiro, has been growing an immaculate organic garden in his backyard, complete with exotic vegetables that Hank has never even heard of before. Convinced that Junichiro's gardening prowess is making him look bad, Hank enlists the help of Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer to start their own organic garden.
At first, Hank and his friends struggle to get anything to grow, despite following Junichiro's advice to the letter. But as they continue to tend to their garden with enthusiasm, they start to see progress. Hank becomes obsessed with the garden, spending all of his time nurturing the plants and even dreaming about them at night.
As their garden begins to flourish, Hank and his friends become more and more confident in their abilities. They enter their produce into a local organic farmers' market, where they are delighted to find that their vegetables are in high demand. However, when Junichiro stops by their booth and points out that some of their produce is not actually organic, Hank is devastated. He realizes that he was so focused on the end result that he lost sight of the importance of growing food naturally and responsibly.
Feeling ashamed, Hank tears down his garden and apologizes to Junichiro, promising to start over and do things the right way next time. To his surprise, Junichiro offers to help him out and the two start working together to create a truly organic garden. In the end, Hank learns that gardening is not just about producing the best vegetables, but also about respecting the environment and the natural processes that make it all possible.
