Hank's neighbor, Kahn, purchases a new backhoe and begins using it to dig a hole in his backyard, much to the annoyance of the rest of the neighborhood. When the hole begins causing issues with the neighbors' yards, the neighborhood decides to take action and confront Kahn about the hole. However, their efforts prove futile as Kahn refuses to stop digging.
As the hole continues to cause problems, Peggy convinces Hank to take up the issue with the city council. Hank, along with Peggy and several other neighbors, meets with the council and demands that they take action against Kahn. However, the council refuses to get involved, claiming that the issue is a private matter between neighbors.
Realizing that they need to take matters into their own hands, the residents of the neighborhood set out to find a way to stop Kahn from digging. After numerous failed attempts, they finally come up with a plan to pull the backhoe out of the hole and disable it, which they successfully execute.
In the end, Kahn is forced to admit defeat and agrees to fill in the hole and apologize to his neighbors. Hank and his friends celebrate their victory, but are left wondering how they will deal with Kahn in the future.
