- 3 min
In the thirteenth episode of season four of Kids' Bible Stories, titled "The Daughter of Jairus," viewers will discover a touching and miraculous account from the New Testament of the Bible. The story begins with a desperate plea for help from Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue who was in grief and despair over his gravely ill daughter. Jairus had heard about Jesus and believed that he could heal his beloved child, so he set out to find him and ask for his help.
As Jairus searched for Jesus, the crowds of people grew larger and more pressing. Despite the chaos and noise, Jairus finally found Jesus and fell at his feet, beseeching him to come and lay his hands on his daughter so that she may be healed and live. Jesus, moved by Jairus' faith and compassion, agreed to accompany him back to his home to see the young girl.
On the way to Jairus' home, Jesus encountered a woman in the crowd who had been suffering from a bleeding disorder for twelve years. She had spent all her money on doctors and treatments, but nothing had helped. As Jesus was passing by, the woman reached out and touched his cloak, firmly believing that if she could just touch even the hem of his garment, she would be healed.
And she was. Jesus turned to her and said, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
As Jairus and Jesus continued on their way, they encountered more crowds and commotion at Jairus' house. People were weeping and wailing, mourning the loss of the young girl. But Jesus told them not to weep, for the girl was not dead, but sleeping. He went into the house with Jairus and the girl's mother and only allowed Peter, James, and John to come along with him.
When Jesus went into the room where the girl lay, he took her by the hand and said, "Talitha koum!" which means "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" Immediately, the girl stood up and began to walk. Everyone who witnessed the miracle was astounded and overjoyed.
