Blasteroid Blues / Rat-a-Phooey is the third episode of Kid vs. Kat's second season. When Coop is chosen to participate in a video game tournament, he spends all his time training in front of the television, constantly neglecting his chores, and responsibilities around the house.
As Coop vacuums up Kat's hair, he finds a strange-looking device that he believes to be the ultra-rare and highly coveted Blasteroid video game. However, the game was trashed by Kat's hairball, along with Coop's sister Millie's doll.
Undaunted, Coop tries to fix the video game, but he realizes he needs the components of the game pad. This quest leads him and Dennis to Old Lady Munson's garage sale, where they find the game pieces. The boys end up having another showdown against Kat to retrieve the rest of the game pieces. Meanwhile, Fiona tries to teach Millie how to play Blasteroid since they have an extra set. But the girls quickly realize that their version of the game is a cheap knockoff and not the same as the real deal.
In the second episode, Rat-a-Phooey, Kat is determined to bring a rat into the house, but Coop refuses to let him. Determined to find a way to get the rat, Kat uses a remote control device to control a toy rat and lead it into the house, with the goal of ultimately capturing a real one.
He is successful as the toy rat ends up attracting a real rat, leading to chaos in the house as Coop becomes increasingly worried and freaked out about the vermin. The boys come up with a plan in order to trap the rat and successfully work together to catch it. But in the end, it's revealed that the only thing that scared the rat off was Kat, as he begins to chase the rat around the house, with Coop and the boys watching on in stunned amazement.
Blasteroid Blues / Rat-a-Phooey showcases the hilarious and entertaining hi-jinks of Coop and Kat, who are constantly at odds with one another. It's a great addition to the show's lineup, providing plenty of laughs and excitement for both kids and adults alike. With its zany, fast-paced action and clever writing, Kid vs. Kat continues to be a cute and entertaining animated series that is wholesome enough for the whole family to enjoy.
