The women have a plan for Kathy's new décor and it involves a very gay theme, making Palm Springs the perfect backdrop to find all they need to furnish the house. Kathy soon realizes that she has another issue on her hands -- Tom's reaction to Ambien has resulted in nightly Ambien-induced sleepwalking and "sleep"-eating episodes_4-18. In his sleep, Tom eats all of Kathy's favorite junk food.

Meanwhile, with the economy being what it is, ticket sales are low for her Madison Square Garden show, so Kathy has to go into self-promotion mode and does the media rounds. She does Joy Behar's show, and after their taping, the ladies become fast friends. Kathy presents her idea of the public pap smear, to a group of ladies from the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, explaining her good intentions -- and their eyes widen at the idea. The risks of creating a spectacle seem to outweigh the positives for their organization. Kathy admits that if she were Cameron Diaz, she could get press just going into a doctor's office, but on the D-List -- you've got to make some noise to be heard.

When California State Senator Barbara Boxer (D) speaks at the event about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and the importance in fighting for its repeal, Kathy decides she wants to do whatever she can to help the cause. The next day, Kathy and Team Griffin head to Washington. Kathy gets the opportunity to meet with some of the soldiers for whom she is fighting. Kathy makes her case to Congress and things go as well as can be expected. Boosted by the adrenaline rush from speaking in front of the Senate, Kathy gets an idea to build even more support and sends out an urgent tweet for all of her followers to come to D.C. to help stage a peaceful, but powerful protest on the mall.

Kathy sets up a meeting with Robert, the ghostwriter who helped Kathy with her own best-selling book, but when the head honchos from Hyperion (the book publishers) arrive for a meeting, they're shocked when Maggie lays out her demands. This group of dog-sledders is not exactly her crowd -- but the cold has frozen her brain and she can't help but open her show with her standard "Where my gays at?" shout out. Later, things get competitive when Kathy and Levi do a dual bookstore signing together. Kathy signs her book and Levi signs his Playgirl centerfold issue. The trip ends with Kathy and Levi visiting two gay bars so Levi could study up on the gay culture he didn't realize was right under his nose.
