Ep 6. The God Catches a Cold

Nanami is adjusting to life in a god's shoes - or place - nicely, but it isn't without its ups and downs, especially when she wakes up to find that her very own god, who gifted her with his own powers, has come down with a heavy case of cold. Tomoe is so ill, that he can't move, doesn't have any energy, and even the slightest movement is causing him pain. And to make matters worse... he's turned into a child!

A young, helpless child, Tomoe can't remember how he got into a human form as it's never happened to him before. So there are some things he has to learn about living as a child on Earth and things that are pretty curious for him. To top things off, he is now seen differently by everyone else as a child, including Nanami, who has to care for him.

Nanami struggles with determining whether or not to treat Tomoe as a child since his mind isn't that of a child's, but she has no choice. After spending the day taking care of him, obtaining medicine, and finding him suitable food, Nanami tries to relax by going out with Ami, but she can't stop thinking about Tomoe and heads back home.

She discovers that the medicine didn't work, and Tomoe's condition's worsening, so she tries to provide different cures, ultimately creating a mixture of ginger and honey to soothe his throat. He likes the concoction, but it makes his mouth numb. While playing and looking after Tomoe, Nanami's actions create doubt within the minds of both Kurama and Mizuki, who believe she's mistreating Tomoe in his infant-like state.

On the brink of giving up, Nanami winds up accidentally revealing her kind-hearted, nurturing nature to Tomoe, who is still conscious. Through observation, he sees Nanami's determination and love towards him and finally accepts her in a new light, exhibiting a rare display of sincerity.

Later at night, after Nanami has fallen asleep, Tomoe, whose fever has finally broken after five days, returns to his original form and gently wraps her up in his robes as he watches her slumber.

The episode ends with an emotional, touching scene as Tomoe, who has never indicated any sort of feeling outside of annoyance, looks at her fondly, where he appears to be developing strong emotions for Nanami, only to remain to be seen how much the relationship between the two will change after Tomoe's cold is all done and dusted.
