Ep 2. The God Becomes a Target

Nanami has just become the new land god in the shrine, but she is far from being comfortable with her new responsibilities. She has a lot to learn about the spiritual world, and she is struggling to gain control over her divine powers. To make things worse, the shrine is in a state of disrepair, and there are almost no worshippers left to support her. She needs to find a way to make people believe in her, and fast, or she will lose her godhood and be exiled from the shrine.

One day, Nanami meets a mysterious man in the shrine grounds. He tells her that he is a tengu, a divine being that helps gods and humans alike, and that he has come to offer her his assistance. His name is Tomoe, and he used to serve the previous land god before he abandoned the shrine. At first, Nanami is hesitant to trust him, but he proves his loyalty by saving her from a group of yokai that were attacking her.

Tomoe agrees to become Nanami's familiar, a kind of spiritual servant that helps gods carry out their duties. He is very powerful, and he is also very arrogant and snobbish, which makes it hard for Nanami to get along with him. However, she knows that she needs his help if she wants to succeed as a land god, so she decides to put up with his attitude.

Soon after Tomoe joins her, Nanami discovers that there is a group of yokai who want to kill her and take over the shrine. They are led by a powerful demon called Orochi, who has a grudge against the land god and wants to see her dead. Orochi is very cunning, and he has a lot of followers among the yokai. Nanami realizes that she is in serious danger, and that she needs to find a way to protect herself and her shrine.

With Tomoe's help, Nanami starts to investigate the yokai's plans and gather information about their strengths and weaknesses. She also tries to convince the few worshippers left in the shrine to help her, but they are too scared of the yokai to get involved. Nanami knows that she needs to find a way to inspire them and show them that she is a real god, or she will have no chance of winning the battle.

As the day of the attack approaches, Nanami and Tomoe prepare themselves for the worst. They come up with a strategy to lure Orochi into a trap and defeat him once and for all. However, things don't go as planned, and the yokai prove to be much stronger than they anticipated. Nanami finds herself in a desperate situation, surrounded by enemies and with no escape.
