Ep 10. War World (1)

In the episode "War World (1)" of the first season of the animated series Justice League, the Justice League team is called upon to assist the alien planet of Mongul in resolving a civil war. Mongul, the leader of War World, is asked to step down by his rebellious son, Mantovar. However, Mongul views his ruthless method of ruling as necessary to keep the planet together.

The League is divided on how to handle the situation, with Martian Manhunter arguing for diplomatic solutions and Superman advocating for a military approach. Eventually, a compromise is reached, and the League agrees to act as impartial judges in a gladiatorial contest between Mongul and Mantovar to determine the fate of War World.

During the contest, Mongul is aided by a mysterious, robot-like creature called the Warzoons, who are able to manipulate the arena and cheat on Mongul's behalf. Meanwhile, Batman and Wonder Woman discover that the Warzoons are under the control of the tyrant Despero, who has been manipulating the civil war on War World for his own gain.

As the episode ends, the contest between Mongul and Mantovar comes to a dramatic conclusion, with the fate of War World hanging in the balance. This cliffhanger sets the stage for the second part of the story, which continues in the subsequent episode, "War World (2)".
