In season 2 of Justice League Unlimited, Episode 1 titled "I Am Legion," our beloved superheroes are back together to face an ominous threat. The episode starts with The Question investigating Cadmus, which leads him to uncover a nefarious plot to clone and genetically engineer powerful beings with the intention of using them as a private army. Unbeknownst to The Question and the Justice League, Cadmus has already begun building a secret army to take down the League, should they ever threaten to intervene in their operations.
The episode then cuts to a scene where the League is in action, thwarting a bank robbery. While the League is successful in stopping the robbers, things take a turn when the army created by Cadmus, called Cadmus Legion, attacks them. The League is shocked to see these powerful beings, who are not only immune to their attacks but also capable of disabling their powers.
In an effort to stop Cadmus from creating more of these super soldiers, the League decides to launch an assault on their facilities. However, they soon realize that the enemy is not just outside but inside as well. They find that one of their own, the Atom, has been kidnapped by Cadmus and brainwashed to work for them. Atom, under the control of Cadmus, activates the self-destruction sequence of the Justice League's Watchtower, putting the lives of all the members in danger.
The League must put their differences aside and work as a team to stop Cadmus. They also need to stop the Atom, who they see as the weakest link in Cadmus' plans. The League decides to split up into two teams. The first team, led by Superman and Batman, goes after Cadmus' facilities while the second team, led by Wonder Woman, targets the Atom.
What follows is an action-packed episode with the League fighting off droves of Cadmus Legion soldiers in a high-stakes mission. Wonder Woman's team confronts the Atom, who is now infused with the powers of Captain Atom, making him nearly invincible. What they do not realize is that Atom is just a pawn in Cadmus' plans. The true leader of Cadmus, Amanda Waller, has built a doomsday weapon that will release a virus capable of destroying metahumans and make humans the dominant species.
The ending of the episode is both suspenseful and thrilling, with the fate of the world at stake. The Justice League confronts Cadmus and must battle their way through their facilities, risking their lives to prevent the release of the virus. The Atom plays a crucial role in the episode, and his vulnerability becomes a central aspect of the story.
