Junkyard Gold season 1 episode 5 is titled "Cars and Stars." In this episode, host Steve Magnante takes us on a journey through the world of automotive memorabilia as we explore the treasures found in a mechanical graveyard. We get an inside view of all that lies inside the junkyards that hold these priceless cars and artifacts.

The episode kicks off with Steve visiting a classic car show that showcases the beauty, grace, and elegance of some of the most iconic car designs throughout history. Steve is fascinated by the exquisite detailing of these cars, but he also understands that many vintage and antique cars end up in junkyards, rusting away, or being pieced together to create a unique blend.

As the show progresses, Steve introduces us to some of the most iconic cars of our childhoods, including the Batmobile. We get an inside look at the process that went into creating the iconic car, designed to bring the comic book to life. Steve also shows us another celebrity car from a famous TV show. The car is the true embodiment of the spirit of classic American automobiles.

The episode truly takes off when we visit the auctions that sell original and new, affordable and expensive car parts. Steve outlines the process of buying classic car parts, from dealers who sell them in the middle of farmlands to those who bring them from overseas. These parts are not easily found, but when they are, they are often worth a fortune.

Steve brings out his collection of vintage cars and starts the debate with fellow junkyard treasure hunters. Discussions range from the differences in design, appeal, and rarity. We get insights into the different designs and era trends, and how the designers incorporated them into the cars.

One of the highlights of this episode takes place when Steve visits a family junkyard in rural America. The property has been collecting car parts for the last 80+ years, hiding away some of the most prizedpossessions in the world. Steve is especially excited to find a rare 1957 Corvette that has been disassembled and forgotten over the years. The Corvette had a unique color combination, one which Steve had only seen once before. Steve shares with us that finding that Corvette was like hitting the jackpot. It was a rare car, abandoned, broken, and rusted, but still very valuable.

Throughout the episode, Steve continuously reminds us that hidden in junkyards and forgotten barns lie some of the most valuable cars of our time. These cars are easily forgotten and are often left to rot away, but, as Steve puts it, a pile of rubble to one person can be a treasure trove to another. Junkyard Gold season 1 episode 5, "Cars and Stars," is ultimately a celebration of all that is great about classic automobiles, their unique designs, and the treasure hunts that reveal them to us.
