The climate crisis is unfair. It affects most those who have contributed least to global CO2 emissions. Joko travels through parts of Africa and witnesses first-hand how global warming has been causing devastation for years. In those regions, its effects, such as floods, wildfires, and droughts, are already part of everyday life. The causes of all this are also rooted in colonial structures. And as Joko learns on a very different kind of safari, these still exist to this day. But how does a privileged man from Europe convey all this? In order to do so, Joko assumes an unexpected role: he keeps quiet and listens. Are there solutions that can liberate the Global South from oppression and exploitation while enabling sustainable actions? And will Joko end up becoming a movie star in a Ugandan action thriller?

Our food threatens to become a lethal weapon. Industrial agriculture and factory farming are ruining the soil, one of our most important CO2 reservoirs. We all know these slogans: "Climate protection starts with you" or "This is how sustainability works in everyday life." But what few people know is that behind this narrative is usually an industry that only wants to protect against its own destruction. Instead of real change, it gives us green promises and a guilty conscience. From insider Christine Arena, Joko learns how the fossil fuel industry has been deliberately preventing climate protection for decades. The most creative evidence for this is presented to Joko by Uwe Ochsenknecht, of all people. Joko pushes himself to his limits in this episode. But then something unexpectedly gives him hope: more and more activists around the world are fighting for a future worth living in and are able to win the right to climate justice in court. Will they break the power of the fossil fuel industry and finally make climate protection a reality?

Entrepreneur Joko has grappled with a question time and again throughout his career and he absolutely wants to answer it in this episode: Is it in the DNA of large enterprises to ruthlessly pursue profits? Can you also be successful while doing good? Joko's journey begins in Bakersfield, California, a place that exemplifies how corporations engage in exploitative practices to maximize their profits. Who has the power to change that? Perhaps the CEO of BlackRock Germany, who went to the same school as Joko. It's time for a visit to his hometown! This meeting takes Joko from a basketball court in Los Angeles to the ultimate confrontation with his fear of heights

Joko is on a mission! Full of humility, he recognizes that the climate crisis is a rather unmanageable beast. So he sets out to tackle the problem with the help and advice of smart people. What does Bill Gates think of the idea of sucking CO2 out of the air? How does star architect Bjarke Ingels design a sustainable city of the future? Are there tech gadgets that can solve climate change and simultaneously make the world a better place? Joko drives solar cars in the desert, surfs on electric bikes in the water and sucks CO2 out of the air on Iceland, only to discover: The solution is simpler than we thought. Climate action is more effective the more closely it is interwoven with nature.
